GREETINGS FROM FIRST NORWEGIAN VOLUNTEERS IN MARINDUQUE Ann Kristin Meberg and Katrine Vågen taught the youths in Buenavista how to play football and to dance as worship to God. Here they write about their last day as volunteers. December 12th, 2009 marked the end of our time in Marinduque. We had a farewell party for the sports and dance groups we had initiated here on the island. The youth involved in sports competed in a tournament and the dancers learnt how to choreograph their own dance after a workshop with Katrine Vaagen on how interpretative dance can be used in worship.
GOING WILD FOR AMBASSADORS Up hills and down hills. The high wheeled and strong car brought NMAP staff of Marinduque and Norwegian volunteers to the mountain village school of Payanas. Here we met 1-3 grade children for photo taking and interviews.
CHRISTMAS PARTIES FOR STUDENTS IN MARINDUQUE Every year sponsors from Norway give Christmas donations for our sponsor children and project. This year NMAP and partner schools in Buenavista arranged Christmas parties for approximately 1600 students and out-of-school children. Thank you for making our Christmas party to a big celebration this year, principal Adelaida Saguid at Bagacay Elementary School proclaims to NMA’s consultant, Anders Myrene. The students were happy and well fed after the party, which also included games and dance show by the teachers and students. |
